How to make special curd rice (Karnataka style)

Cooking time : 15 mins
Ingredients:
- 1 tablespoon oil
- 1/2 teaspoon of mustard seed
- 1/2 teaspoon of cumin seed
- 1 pinch of hing
- 1/2 teaspoon of chana dal
- 1/2 teaspoon of urad dal
- 3 – 4 red chilly broken in to large pieces
- 1 tablespoon grated coconut
- 1 strand of curry leaves
- 1 tablespoon coriander leaves
- 1/2 teaspoon of grated ginger
- 1 cup of cooked rice
- 1/2 cup of milk
- 1/2 cup of curd
- salt as per taste
- 2 tablespoon Pomegranate
- 1 medium sized finely chopped onion (fried or raw)
Method of cooking:
- Cook the rice.
- Take a small pan, add oil into it. Once the oil is heat, put mustard seed, cumin seed, asafoetida and let the seeds splutter.
- Add chana dal and urad dal and red chilly and fry it until it turns light golden color.
- Add curry leaves and transfer the mixture to a big bowl.
- Add cooked rice, salt, grated coconut, milk and curd.
- Add onion and pomegranate.
- Mix it well before serving.
