Natural Remedies for Hypertension

GIDDINESS DUE TO HIGH B.P.

Take 20 grams of dry Amla and Green gram (Total 40g.).  Boil in a liter of water and reduce to 200 ml.  Filter.  Drink 100 ml twice a day.

PICKLE WITHOUT OIL

Ingredients:

Lemon – 6; Green chillies – 10; Ginger – small piece; Salt – less than needed.

Wash Lemon, Green chillies and Ginger and wipe well.  Cut the Lemon into pieces.  Cut the chillies and Ginger into fine bits.  Put everything into a glass bottle and shake well.  They will be ready in two days.  Ginger turns pink as it is soaked in Lemon juice.  It can be kept up to a month.  Shake it well once a day.

MUDRAS

If you place the index finger, middle finger and ring finger of one hand on the longitudinal grooves of the back of the other hand and gently massage back and forth, this will have a regulating effect on the blood pressure.

  • JNANA MUDRA AND CHIN MUDRA

Place the tip of the thumb ion your index fingertip and extend your other fingertips.  Lay your hand on your thigh in a relaxed way.  Do this with each hand.

When your fingers point up to Heaven, it is called the Jnana Muda; when your fingers point down to Earth, it is called the Chin Mudra.

This Mudra is done in two different ways.  The first way, as described above, allows the tips of your thumb and index finger to touch each other; for the second variation, the tip of your index finger touches the first thumb joint and the thumb places light pressure on the nail of your index finger.  The first variation is the passive receiving position; the second one is an actively giving position.

It is better when the Jnana Mudra is practiced at the heart.  Raise your hand to the level of the heart, letting the index finger and thumb touch.  Here they should be directed inward and upward.

This is a universal remedy for improving states of mental tension and disorder, as well as for promoting memory and concentration.  This is also good for High B.P.

THIS MUDRA CAN BE COMBINED WITH OTHER MUDRAS AND ENHANCES THEIR EFFECTS WHEN PRACTICED BEFORE OR AFTER THEM.

You can hold the gesture with just your right hand and practice another Mudra with your left hand.

  • MEAO MUDRA

This Mudra is very effective in regulating high as well as low B.P.

Sit in padmasana or Sukhasana.  Make a fist on each hand.  Ensure that the tips of the ring finger and the middle finger on each hand, dig slightly into the respective palms.  Now open out the Index finger and the Little finger.  This will make a Mudra where the thumb, the little finger and the index finger are straight and the middle and ring finger tips are DIGGING (not lying flat) into the palms on each hand.  The open fingers should be kept reasonably straight but not rigid.  Straighten the arms and rest them on your knees.  Do not move your fingers or arms while the Mudra is being practiced.  For long term effects, the mudra should be performed 2 to 3 times a day for 20 to 30 minutes. per sitting.

  • VYAN MUDRA

This Mudra very effectively compliments the effect of Meao Mudra in correcting high B.P.

Sit in Padmasana or Sukasana.  On both hands, touch the tips of the index or forefinger and the middle finger with the tip of the thumb.  Keep the other fingers reasonably straight but not rigid.  Straighten the arms and rest them on the knees.  Do not move the fingers or arms while the Mudra is being performed.  The Mudra should be performed for 20 to 30 mts. 2 to 3 times a day.
