Natural Remedies for Hair Problems
GREY HAIR
Mix Amla powder, Sikakai powder and Garike hullu powder in equal quantities. Wash the hair with this powder often.
Take ¼ kg.of Fenugreek leaves and ¼ lts.of Gingilly oil. Boil together. When the smoke comes, add a teaspoon of Tail Pepper and 4 Harda (mashed). Switch off the stove. Filter. Apply this oil all over the scalp daily. Early age grey hair becomes better.
Parijatha flowers can be used for grey hairs and baldness.
Pure rain water can be used to wash the hair.
Ribbed gourd pieces should be dried in the shade, soaked in coconut oil and kept aside for 3 to 4 days. Then it should be boiled till black. Massage into the scalp to restore pigment to the hair.
Grind Jyeshthamad in cow milk, apply on scalp and wash the hair.
IT IS SAID THAT THE HAIRS OF A PERSON WHO ALWAYS EATS ON A PLANTAIN LEAF WILL NEVER TURN GREY.
Liberal intake of Curry leaves is beneficial in the prevention and treatment of premature greying of hair. They can be used in the form of Chutney or the juice may be squeezed and taken in buttermilk or lassi. When the leaves are boiled in Coconut oil till they are reduced to a blackened residue, the oil forms an excellent hair tonic to stimulate hair growth and in retaining the natural pigmentation.
SIDDA REMEDY:
Grind 5 grams of raw Nannaari (Hemidismus Indicus) roots and drink with 200 ml of milk for a long time.
HAIR DYE
Take 100 g. each of Gooseberry, Mehndi, Harda, Behda, Brahmi and Bhringaraj and Clove 10 g. Powder everything. Soak 3 tsp. of this powder in water in an iron pan overnight. Apply in the morning. Wash off after 3 hours.
Soak one handful of Indigo (Avuri in Tamil; Neeli in Kannada) leaves in Beetroot juice. Apply on hair and wash after an hour.
