So far the Trust has been able to rehabilitate 33 children who were deserted by their parents and those who had no parents. Most of these children lived by begging.
Divyadeepa initiated its activities in village Srirampura on the outskirts of Mysore during 1992. Condition of the rural school was not up to the mark. Due to illiteracy, ignorance and poverty of the parents, lack of infrastructure in the school, children used to either drop out or fail to reach the desired educational standards. So Divyadeepa started conducting supplementary classes free of cost for the benefit of these children. Gradually other activities were taken up which included sponsoring of children for personality development camps, arranging excursions for village children, creation of library for children, providing teaching aids, sports materials to the children, referring destitute children to other organisations, conducting health camps, free training in Screen Printing, Greeting cards making, tree planting, free yoga classes.
