Natural Remedies for Sinus Headache
SINUS HEADACHE
It may appear with unfailing regularity in the morning or forenoon and may be worsened by stooping.
It relates to Kapha dosha. Apply a Ginger paste to the forehead and Sinuses.
Rub a Jaiphal seed (Nutmeg) on a stone and apply the paste over the nostrils and forehead.
TEMPORAL HEADACHE
It indicates an excess of Pitta in the stomach. It can be relieved by drinking a tea of Cumin and Coriander seeds, half a teaspoon of each in one cup of hot water. At the same time, apply Sandalwood oil or Sandalwood paste to the temples.
OCCIPITAL HEADACHE
It refers to the back of the head portion that is just above the neck. It indicates toxins in the colon. Take two tablespoons of Flaxseed before sleep in one cup of warm milk. At the same time, apply a Ginger paste behind the ears.
HEADACHE IN THE CROWN AREA
Give Blue radiation for 15 minutes in the Pelvic area.
PAIN OVER EYEBROWS AND FOREHEAD
Powder Dry Ginger, heat ½ tsp. after mixing with hot water to make a paste. Apply externally over forehead as and when required.
Take Trikatu (Dry Ginger, Pepper and Pippali – 15g. each) and powder. Take 1 tsp. of this powder mixed with honey thrice a day for 3 to 4 days.
Eye headaches are aggravated by reading in dim light, by strong lights or by gazing at bright objects for a long time without rest.
MAHASIRS MUDRA
The tips of your thumb, index finger and middle finger touch each other. Place your ring finger into the fold of the thumb and keep your little finger extended. Do this with each hand. Do as needed, or three times every day for 6 minutes. This Mudra balances energy, has a tension -relieving effect and eliminates mucus congestion in the frontal sinuses.
