Chandigarh is home to numerous inter state sporting teams in tournaments like PHL and IPL. The city has built upon this achievements a network of sound infrastructure ranging from stadium to training camps. This include the entire gamut from cricket stadiums, swimming pools, shooting ranges to skating rinks and hockey stadiums. Chandigarh also has gardens across the entire city. Chandigarh is home to world famous Rock Garden,built from waste things. The most famous being the Rose Garden. Other gardens are Garden of Annuals, Fragrance Garden, Hibiscus Garden, Chrysanthemum Garden, Botanical Garden and Shanti Kunj

Rock garden: The Rock Garden of Chandigarh is a Sculpture garden, also known as Nek Chand’s Rock Garden after its founder Nek Chand. Today it is spread over an area of forty-acres, it is completely built of industrial and home waste and thrown-away items. The Rock Garden is still made out of recycled materials. It is situated near Sukhna Lake. It consists of man-made interlinked waterfalls and many other sculptures that have been made of scrap and other kinds of wastes (bottles, glasses, bangles, tiles, ceramic pots, sinks, electrical waste, etc) which are placed in walled paths. This creation has even appeared on the Indian stamp in the year 1983.

Rose Garden: Rose Gardesn (Zakir Hussain Rose Garden) is a botanical garden located in Chandigarh, India and spread over 30 acres of land, with 50,000 rose-bushes of 1600 different species. The garden has not only roses, but also trees of medicinal value. Some of the medicinal plants that can be spotted here are bel, bahera, harar, camphor and yellow gulmohar. The rose plants have been planted in carved-out lawns and flower beds.

Botanical garden: Botanical gardens are generally well-tended parks displaying a wide range of plants labelled with their botanical names. They may contain specialist plant collections such as cacti and succulent plants, herb gardens, plants from particular parts of the world, and so on; there may be greenhouses, again with special collections such as tropical plants, alpine plants or other exotic plants. Visitor services often include garden tours, educational displays, art exhibitions, book rooms, open-air theatrical and musical performances and other entertainment.
