Natural Remedies for Acidity


  • Licorice covers the stomach wall with a protective gel, lowers acid levels and reduces intestinal spasms. It helps to remove irritating effects of acid in a better way than alkalis. Roots of Licorice boiled in water and then steamed can also relieve stomach upset. A teaspoon of this decoction should be mixed with equal quantity of honey and taken thrice daily. Scandinavian scientists found that Licorice compounds reduced acids, stimulated mucus secretion and helped stomach wall cells repair themselves.
  • Eat two Green colored Banana fruits daily as they cover the stomach wall with a protective gel and cure the ulcers. Banana is a natural antacid.
  • Ash gourd, Orange, Beetroot, Carrot, Apple and Cucumber are good for Acidity problem.
  • Add Mint leaves to Coffee or Tea, if unavoidable.
  • Drink water magnetized with South Pole.
  • Place several small Pearls in water overnight and drink the following day. This tonic is a natural antacid and anti – inflammatory. Pearl water tonic can be made to increase vitality, relieve eye-strain and soothe burning urination.
  • Tomatoes, when cooked, turn very acidic. So take them raw.
  • A drop of Dill oil, mixed in a teaspoon of honey, should be licked immediately after meal.
  • Crush the stem of Amrutha balli (Tinospora Cordifolia) and extract juice. Take 1 tsp. thrice a day with honey for 7 days.
  • Crush the tubers of Asparagus Racemosus and extract juice. Take thrice a day after adding honey for 7 days. Alternately dry them and powder. Add 3 tsp of the powder to half a cup of water and half a cup of milk, boil and reduce to half. Take 6 tsp with Jaggary in the morning and evening for 7 days.
  • Take 1 tsp. of Triphala powder with honey thrice a day.
  • Make decoction of the rind of Pomegranate fruit. Take half a cup with honey thrice a day for 7 days.
  • Take a spoonful of dried Amla powder with honey or ghee. Wash it down with water after dinner. By the morning, the extra acid in the system will be neutralized and the trouble will vanish.
  • Mix 1 part of Coriander seeds with 8 parts of Rice. Soak it overnight. The following morning, cook and eat it. Repeat for several days to eliminate stomach acidity.
  • Carrot juice 10 oz. and Indian Spinach juice 6 oz can be mixed and taken daily.
  • Carrot juice 10 oz, Beetroot juice 3 oz and Cucumber juice 3 oz together can be taken daily.
  • After drinking the water, take a long, slow walk in the morning air. This starts the downward flow of gasses essential to proper motion, as well as giving you fresh air and the tranquil beauty of the early morning.
